Hello! I’ve decided to start FAQ posts again. For a long time I was answering questions via Formspring (you can still view them here), but lately am wanting to keep as much content right here on my blog as possible. It’s hard keeping up with multiple sites/accounts all over the internet! (Same reason I’m thinking […]

February 13, 2012 - 3:01 pm

Paula - My sis-n-law took a bunch of old cameras and decorated the corner part of her bathtub and put a bunch of old fam black and white pics on the wall. Way cute. So, cameras in the bathroom do work!!

February 13, 2012 - 3:00 pm

Andrea - That is a beautiful collection! Where did you find them all?

February 13, 2012 - 2:59 pm

Talita - I like these pics a lot. I think would be interesting to see them all together … And maybe if you know the years they were produced, in chronological order… XD Made me curious about cameras…

a new lens… sort of

Anderson outed me as a total geek. My secret is no longer safe. Last week he handed me a Canon lens box. I was surprised and a little confused, especially when I felt how light the box was. Then I opened it. And let me just tell you I was ridiculously excited to see this: I […]

Marlena - Is it sad if it took me a minute to realize it was a MUG – even after you said "carrying this mug.." Whatever, I blame Monday.

Anyway, I love your blog – all of it. I'd vote for more personal tidbits, those are my favorite….but that could also be because I knew you pre-business. Photo wise, I think many would love more photoshoots / helpful hints. Maybe a combination of those to avoid being bogged down. Ex: something you possibly learned on a particular shoot or a tip / t

Eddy Foye - Scratch and sniff pictures of Kingston so we (I) can smell his sweet little head. Too creepy?

5 Secrets to Nailing the Shot

I admit it. I’m a little OCD when it comes to focus and image sharpness. I’ve thrown out a lot of pictures over the years just because they weren’t sharp enough around the subject’s face and eyes. You’ve done it too, right? And it’s SO ANNOYING! One question I get a lot is: “How do […]

lyndsay hyatt-almeida - Hey Sara! The 24-70 really is nice for family events, travel, everyday stuff. But yeah, I like the 50 1.4 for portraits!

April 29, 2011 - 4:33 pm

Sara - Great advice! I was thinking of getting the 24-70 mm lens and now I will rethink it. It's a lot of money to spend on a lens for sure! I love my 50mm 1.8 for portraits.
