Escape

This month has been hell. I mean, seriously. We’re dealing with a couple of BIG things plus a bunch of small ones piled on all at once. Isn’t that how it always happens though? I’m so ready to wave goodbye to February. So long, crappy month! Hopefully I can share more soon. You know, when…

Missy Douglass - LOL!!! I love the picture of Eddy the dinner creeper! The Foyes are awesome. February has been really tough on John and I…really, if I am honest…the past few months. Misery loves company, I guess. We are praying for you guys and you’re right…God knew that you all needed to see friendly faces and I am so glad you both got an evening out with some fun frivolity! Hope we see y’all soon!

February 28, 2013 - 2:13 pm

annie - I’m with you. So far, February can take it and shove it where the sun don’t shine. January too for that matter. I GIVE UP! I think that’s the point. When we are at our lowest, He’s there. He’s there at the highest too…but we don’t always ‘need him’. It’s at our lowest, we cry out more. Bless you sister. I’ll hide with you if you wanna run! ;) Because I”m ready! xoxoxo Praying! Love you girl!

February 28, 2013 - 2:00 pm

pinkcoffeephoto - Pops, That is SO RANDOM!!

February 28, 2013 - 1:51 pm

Poppa - OK, here is some Riverside trivia for you. What restaurant was originally housed in the building where the Salty Fig is now?

Give up? It was “Buddy Ezell’s Bar-B-Q”, circa 1977. There was a guy who worked there who looked just like the “dinner creeper.”

February 27, 2013 - 9:41 pm

KC @ genxfinance - Actually, I think he just wants to be in the picture.. lol :D But good thing you get to spend some time together and just the two of you. And what you are eating, yum!

February 27, 2013 - 2:44 pm

pinkcoffeephoto - Whit, I think I need to be more of a ventor. is that a word?! Thanks for being so sweet!!

February 27, 2013 - 1:08 pm

Whitney - Lyndsay – so I guess you knew EXACTLY how I felt when I probably vented too much to your simple question last Sunday. (Probably more than you wanted or needed) But unlike you I typically don’t hide but blurt out my problems in hopes I will feel better. February is over this week and I hope when it is over you are offered clarity to your struggles. :-) Thanks for being you and sharing your awesomeness with all of us!

February 27, 2013 - 12:43 pm

pinkcoffeephoto - Ha! Tracy, thanks for making me laugh!!! You totally called me out on that one. But it has some veggies too. :)

February 27, 2013 - 12:01 pm

Tracy - Hmmmm, is that a sophisticated mustard and cheese sandwich you are eating?

February 27, 2013 - 11:42 am

pinkcoffeephoto - I’m sorry, Tara! Ugh. I agree. And some salty stuff too? Praying for your fam!

February 27, 2013 - 11:32 am

Tara - Must be in the air. Weird month. I know too many people going through tough stuff right now, including us. I say we all crawl under a rock and hide together for a bit. No talking, just eating lots of sorrow-drowning chocolate. What do you say? :D Hugs and prayers.

February 27, 2013 - 11:05 am

pinkcoffeephoto - Jennifer, I swear we’re related! Heard you are totally sick. So sorry. Hope you feel better FAST!

February 27, 2013 - 10:53 am

Jennifer - Yep. I’m a hider too. So good on ya for not crawling in a hole! For finding escape around people when you’d rather be alone in your pain. How else can God redeem our suffering if we keep it all to ourselves? Oh, and I love those appointed run-ins, don’t you? Especially if they are sweet and stay at their own table.

February 27, 2013 - 10:39 am

pinkcoffeephoto - Tammy, So glad YOU were one of those people! Thanks for praying!

February 27, 2013 - 10:23 am

Tammy - Ahhh LOVE Salty Fig. We are similar in the way we cope…. “When I’m really dealing with hard stuff I like to hide.” God places people in our lives sometimes for just the very reason of being an encourager! Praise Him for placing those special people in your path just when you needed them! Praying for you my friend! Thank you for sharing….it encouraged me!

February 27, 2013 - 10:20 am

pinkcoffeephoto - Eddy, I agree. :)

February 27, 2013 - 10:19 am

Eddy Foye - Creepiest dinner creeper ever!

Share The Love – Favorite Things Party

Last weekend I had a few friends over for some much needed girl-time. They’re all amazing women and most either have stressful jobs or stressful kids. Just kidding! (Not really.) So I wanted them to be able to relax and just enjoy being together. We even used the fancy china. You know, after I dug…

February 22, 2013 - 8:53 am

Tracy - How is it that our mothers always made it look so easy!?! I will NEVER be as good as my mother! Maybe the next party should be for them!

pinkcoffeephoto - Andrea, I love the idea of an annual party!

February 21, 2013 - 10:43 am

Andrea Worley - Love this! Love your take on Valentine’s Day decor, what an awesome party. My friend throws one of these every year and they are so much fun!

February 21, 2013 - 10:32 am

pinkcoffeephoto - B-Rice, Think we’ll ever be able to keep up with our moms? :)

February 21, 2013 - 10:23 am

Brooke - Love the pictures!!! I had so much fun and it was just what I needed last weekend. Notice that there are no pictures of the actual favorite things – this is obviously because we were having way too much fun to stop and take any pictures.

I’d offer to do it next time, but I think I’m quite possibly the worst hostess ever. It stresses my mom out when I volunteer to host anything because she knows she’ll end up doing most of it :)

February 21, 2013 - 10:05 am

pinkcoffeephoto - Annie, This would be the most fun birthday party ever! Do it!!

February 21, 2013 - 9:52 am

annie - Now! Look at this! If this isn’t the greatest idea ever!!!!! I LOVE THIS!!!!!! I think I’d like to do this for my birthday! What a fabulous idea! And the decor is perfect!

Can we talk again about those prints you have above the couch…I need to know where to get these! LOVE THEM!

Great job girl! Everything looks perfect!!!!

Love Day

Once upon a time, we went out on a hot date every Valentine’s Day. But now it’s the one night I don’t enjoy going out. It’s crazy! So instead we celebrated last week by spending the morning in St. Augustine. Just me and my Valentine… and his shadow. We love St. Augustine, especially the 30…

February 22, 2013 - 6:26 pm

Jen @ Paisley Print Shoes - My sister just sent me your blog and I’m pretty much obsessed. It’s too much fun! I definitely am going to have to throw a favorite things party. And where did you get that scarf?? I’m in love. :)

February 21, 2013 - 7:50 pm

pinkcoffeephoto - Jules, As long as he’s out-numbered we’re good. When it’s just me it’s crazy-town for sure!!

February 21, 2013 - 7:45 pm

Julianne - OK. Fess up. Is Kingston really that fun & well behaved or are pictures deceiving? I’d spend too much time chasing & dragging Aubrey Jo to be able to sneak even 1 decent photo of our outing. LoL

February 21, 2013 - 7:40 pm

pinkcoffeephoto - Everyone brings 5 of the same thing but takes home 5 different things. I feel ya!

February 21, 2013 - 7:31 pm

Marlena - Um, just pretend I left this on the correct blog entry please. It’s been a long day!

February 21, 2013 - 7:29 pm

Marlena - Johnny & June, bahaha I love it! And okay, so does that mean each person gets 5 of the SAME things to take home or 5 things meaning 1 of each? Help a sister out.

February 19, 2013 - 2:34 pm

pinkcoffeephoto - Hey Katie! I’m glad too, and happy you found a little Monday night entertainment!!

pinkcoffeephoto - Annie, Would you be cool with skinny jeans and Converse too? Ha!! Come on down here. We’re actually having winter for about 3 days!

February 18, 2013 - 12:58 pm

annie - Kingston has to be the best dressed little fella I’ve ever seen! I mean, really. Can you please hurry up and come up here and dress me! These pictures are great! I might need to come visit soon! ;)

February 18, 2013 - 12:37 pm

pinkcoffeephoto - Ginger, Isn’t it a beautiful place? So much to see!

February 18, 2013 - 12:19 pm

Ginger - Too cool. Seeing your pictures brings back memories of Mom taking us to St Augustine. Not as often as you go but it must’ve been one of her favorite cities too. She would’ve snatched that belly dancer outfit up, I believe.

February 18, 2013 - 11:52 am

pinkcoffeephoto - Kacia, I’m totally enjoying this stage where I get to dress him however I want, and he doesn’t care. :) I KNOW you can relate!!

February 18, 2013 - 11:51 am

Kacia - you do realize his outfit is TO DIE FOR right!??!!? omygoodness. Also? you are stunning.

Share the Love

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King Jr. Well, that was FUN!!! I realized over the last few weeks that I want sharing God’s love with others, even when it’s not convenient, to become such a part of…

pinkcoffeephoto - Stacey, I’m so glad you did it with us!

February 19, 2013 - 2:05 pm

Stacey - Thanks for hosting this blog hop event. It is sometimes hard to stop and take the time we need to do good for others and ourselves in this every day hurry we call life. It has brought to the forefront for me things I should be doing year around and without even thinking twice about them. I have enjoyed reading through the hop blogs to see how other women and their families are Sharing the Love every day. Thank you (and Annie at The Farrar Four) for sharing your great inspiration.

February 14, 2013 - 3:19 pm

pinkcoffeephoto - SB, I’m so glad to hear it. Sometimes we really just need a little reminder, ya know?!?

February 14, 2013 - 2:31 pm

February 14, 2013 - 10:37 am

annie - Love that you were also blessed by others sharing the love this week too! You deserve it! You have a heart of gold! Thank you so much for doing this and asking me to be a part!!!! It was so fun to see what I could actually do with little time and/or money to make someone elses day!

Hope you have a wonderful day!!!!!

pinkcoffeephoto - Katie, That’s GREAT! Thank you so much for doing this with us!!!

February 14, 2013 - 10:06 am

Katie @ Loverly She - Thankyou so much for organizing this Lyndsay!! I was worried I’d be really limited in what I could do but God taught me so much about the power of the “little” everyday things and the power of encouragement. :)

February 14, 2013 - 10:00 am

pinkcoffeephoto - Kacia, You taking a leap and starting She Reads Truth totally encouraged me!!

February 14, 2013 - 8:31 am

Kacia - Thank you for planning and hosting this event, Lyndsay!!! I love your recap- and your photos are spectacular…. As always! I just don’t comment enough to tell you that!

What Our February Looks Like

I’m doing the “blog circle” with these 5 other girls again this month, so when you’re finished here, be sure to check out Ginger’s post and make your way through the circle until you find your place back here! Our February has been really low-key. This is completely out of the norm for us, and…
